About Us

History

You know Topshop as the style setter and star of your wardrobe, but over the years we've become so much more! From the charities we sponsor to our work at London Fashion Week, our love of everything fashion knows no bound!


We started out life way back in 1964. Since those humble beginnings in the basement of a department store we've grown up and now have over 300 stores in the UK alone! We ship to more than 100 countries and our eclectic British style is known all over the world.


Our Oxford Circus flagship is a mecca for cool girls, whether they're holidaying in London or living in the capital, and we've spread the love across the pond with flagships in Chicago and New York!


Over the years we've built a strong bond with industry insiders and in 2002 we joined forces with NEWGEN, a scheme which allows us to foster new design talent and provide a global platform for the scene's brightest new stars. We're also the only high street brand to show on schedule at London Fashion Week, and Topshop Unique has become the style set's hottest ticket.


From our collaborations - think Christopher Kane and Kate Moss - to our fresh take on making new season pieces work for you, we're on a mission to bring style to you, wherever you are. OLLECTION
Topshop is all about refusing to be pigeonholed. Each customer is an individual and relies on the brand to deliver everything from basics to cutting-edge trends. It's the broad spectrum of ever-changing collections that keep Topshop ahead of the style game.


MAINLINE

Topshop's Mainline range is a one-stop shop for the seasonal wardrobe. Created by an in-house design team, the range of instant classics sits alongside the more specialist collections.


PREMIUM

Aiming to give the customer that little something extra, the Premium range uses premium fabrics and limited-edition designs. Absolute attention to detail is paid, right down to the linings and trims. Silk, chiffon and organza is used for dresses, blouses and skirts, whilst virgin wool and cashmere is used in coats - as well as angora, mohair and alpaca.


BOUTIQUE

Largely made up of cashmere blends and silk- based fabrics, the Boutique collection is designed to build into the
customer's wardrobe. Although fashion-forward, the neutral colour palette and attention to style rather than trend ensures that timeless garments cross seasons and last for years. As part of Topshop Boutique, we also collaborate with a host of up-and-coming design stars. From Christopher Kane to Jonathan Saunders and Louise Goldin, we have produced capsule collections with some of fashion's brightest stars.


UNIQUE

Launched in 2001, Unique showcases Topshop's very own design talents to an audience of fashion savvy tastemakers. Although hugely successful since the start, Unique's reputation truly rocketed when the collection's SS06 show made Topshop the first high street brand to appear on schedule at London Fashion Week. Today it continues to remain ahead of the game, doing the unexpected whilst retaining its accessibility.


COLLABORATIONS

Developing some of history's most successful fashion collaborations has cemented Topshop's reputation as a brand that knows its market inside and out. Queen of textiles and long-time design partner to Ossie Clarke, Celia Birtwell's vintage-print dresses and blouses caused a sensation in 2006, selling out in three minutes - and four further (including SS08) successful collections have followed. Kate Moss' collection has been equally phenomenal, as pieces encapsulating the icon's ever changing sense of style have frequently sold out and become a hit worldwie.

We Support

FASHION TARGETS BREAST CANCER
This is our longest running charitycollaboration. Every year we create an exclusively designed t-shirt, the proceeds of which go direct to the charity that gives help and support to women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.


TEENAGE CANCER TRUST

Our Summer Bandstand Picnics help to raise money for this amazing charity that helps young people with cancer to lead normal lives. With sports day races, cupcakes and performances from the music scene's brightest stars, they've always been a great day out for a very worthy cause.


AGE UK

We took to the streets with our mobile soup kitchen, offering a cup of something delicious in return for a charitable donation and over 3700 of you took part! We also held festive craft workshops instore where shoppers could donate money and learn how to make their own crackers or customise tights. Everything we raised went towards helping Age UK to provide advice, support and practical services.


AGE CONCERN

Topshop Dress Me Up saw dresses donated by fashion's most fabulous - there was even a Burberry number from Freida Pinto and an incredible Herve Leger from model Jourdan Dunn! Each piece was available to hire for £40 a night and we managed to raise lots of money in support of the UK's elderly.


HELP THE AGED

We ask incredible illustrators to create our beautiful charity Christmas cards each year. Fifi Lapin, Julie Verhoeven, Bip Ling and Margot Bowman have all contributed and the proceeds raised by selling them go to Help the Aged.


CENTREPOINT

The girls from Topshop HQ took part in a sponsored charity sleep-out to raise money for Centrepoint, who provide support and shelter for the UK's 80,000 young and homeless. We've also designed cute friendship bracelets and put £1 donation boxes at tills instore. As they say, every little helps!

Our programme is continuous, with key focus areas and performance targets for each coming year. At the end of each year, we re-evaluate and report on our progress to make a difference in the following year.
